I love the wording of the different translations for Psalm 119:32.

  • I run in the path of your commands, for you have broadened my understanding.
  • I shall run the way of Your commandments, for you will enlarge my heart.
  • I run in the path of your commandments, for you…

the best part about being in your 20’s is slowly caring less and less about what people think of you and surrounding yourself with good people

the worst is that I’m broke

"

The best piece of advice that I’ve heard on how to make the right decision:

Flip a coin. While it was in the air you had one outcome on your mind. You secretly hoped for it to be the winner. Go with what you wished for.

There are no right decisions, but at least you won’t be stuck with regret. Yes, the old cliche, “don’t live with regrets.”

Assuming you’ve done all the necessary deep diving, then go with it.

If you fall down a few times then dust off, laugh a bit, and try something new the next day.

"Sometimes, in order for God to get you on His plan, He has to ruin your plan. And that’s a blessing. If your plan worked you’d be stuck settling for less."

When looking for an accountability partner or mentor, select someone that’s going to actually challenge you. Don’t just find a cheerleader or someone that will give you a high five no matter what.

Find some that you can look up to that will tell you the truth without worrying about your feelings.

"

Your tears do not make you less of a man, and your fists do not make you more of one.

Be slow to anger. Love remains forever patient.

Know that it’s impossible to live without regrets, but it is possible to live without making the same mistakes twice. So keep your heart teachable. The teachable man will always get the job before the personable one who claims to know it all already.

"Women want to feel safe, not just physically, but they want to feel safe emotionally and secure and confident in their relationship. They want to feel beautiful and be told they are; they want you to pay attention to them and pick up on things without them telling you all the time. They want to feel confident that you would do anything to make them happy. Being dismissive of what she is telling you about how she feels, chalking it up to her being emotional or dramatic makes her feel unsafe in the relationship and it will boil over into something deeper. Men have to realized that they have to pay attention to what their woman is asking them for. Women have to realize they aren’t asking for too much, they just might be asking the wrong person to give it to them."

I have a feeling that our market is going to start moving towards making installment payments on every little thing. Installment payments towards a television, towards cellular phones, groceries (?!), plane tickets, designer bags, anything you can think of. I think it’s something consumers are unintentionally doing. It’s moving towards, it’s better to have 30% than to have 100% of the product and then if you ever want to exchange it, you can. Although this option sounds enticing, one thing to be cautious here is are you ever going to be able to pay it off? And I hope our markets are smart enough to think twice about what can happen to our economy, and aren’t just money hungry.
